Serving the citizens of Lorain County since 1947, The Nord Center offers a full continuum of assistance to individuals with serious mental illness, as well as education and support to their families. This includes diagnostic assessment, psychiatric services, counseling, case management, partial hospitalization, residential treatment, supported community living, emergency stabilization and vocational services.
The Center also offers treatment for a variety of disorders such as panic disorder, trauma of abuse, domestic violence, and co-occurring mental health and drug and alcohol problems. Special services are offered for bilingual clients and for older adults. Nord’s treatment philosophy centers on recovery for the client, and the use of nationally recognized best practices that have been demonstrated to promote recovery. Services are structured around the needs and well being of the client.
This agency receives funding from the Lorain County Board of Mental Health to provide services to residents of Lorain County. This funding covers most if not all of the costs of services for those who qualify. Fees are based on income and family size. No one will be turned away because of an inability to pay for services.
