Mental health awareness session set for Thursday

The public is invited to a community conversation Thursday that continues a statewide series of town hall sessions to raise awareness of mental health and substance abuse issues affecting young people.

The Texas Health and Human Services initiative, known as Speak Your Mind Texas, has drawn almost 2,900 participants in its two-year run.

Thursday's session is in the Community Connections building at 501 Pine Tree Road in Longview. The two-hour discussion is to begin at 6:30 p.m. and is hosted by regional mental health authority Community HealthCore.
